Peer Review Proces
All manuscripts submitted to Lughoti: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Aarab undergo a rigorous review process to ensure the quality and originality of publications. The journal applies a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from one another to maintain objectivity in the assessment.
The stages of the review process are as follows:
1. Initial Screening by the Editor
Every submitted manuscript is examined by the Editor to ensure:
- Conformity of the topic with the journal's focus and scope.
- Compliance of the writing format with the author guidelines and journal template.
- Originality of the manuscript, checked using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin), with a maximum similarity index threshold.
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be returned to the author without proceeding to the review stage, or will be asked to be revised beforehand.
2. Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be sent to at least two (2) reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's topic. The Editor ensures there is no conflict of interest between the reviewers and the author.
3. Double-Blind Review Process
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on the following aspects:
- Originality and scholarly contribution (novelty).
- Clarity of the research problem, objectives, and methodology.
- Strength of data analysis and discussion.
- Relevance of the literature review and references used.
- Clarity and systematic organization of the writing.
- Consistency between conclusions and research findings.
This review stage generally takes 2–4 weeks, depending on reviewer responsiveness.
4. Editorial Decision
Based on the review results, the Editor will make one of the following decisions:
- Accepted — the manuscript is accepted without revision.
- Minor Revision — the manuscript is accepted with minor revisions.
- Major Revision — the manuscript requires substantial revision and will be re-reviewed.
- Rejected — the manuscript is rejected for not meeting the journal's quality standards or scope.
If there is significant disagreement between reviewers, the Editor may appoint an additional (third) reviewer to provide an independent assessment.
5. Author Revision
Authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscript based on reviewers' comments and feedback, within a deadline set by the Editor (generally 2–3 weeks). The revised manuscript will be re-examined by the Editor and/or returned to reviewers for final verification.
6. Final Decision and Publication Process
Once a manuscript is declared accepted, it proceeds through copyediting, layout editing, and proofreading before being published online (online first) and included in a scheduled journal issue.
