Author Guidelines

TEMPLATE OF LUGHOTI: JOURNAL OF ARABIC LANGUAGE EDUCATION INSTITUT AGAMA ISLAM AL-QUR'AN AL-ITTIFAQIAH INDRALAYA

General Provisions

  1. Articles published in this journal are scholarly works, either research-based or conceptual, examining contemporary issues in society.
  2. Submitted manuscripts must be original works that have never been previously published elsewhere.
  3. The topic of the manuscript must align with the scientific scope and focus of the journal to which it is submitted.
  4. Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. The editorial committee will check every submitted manuscript, and the overall similarity index must not exceed 25%.
  5. Manuscripts must be written in Indonesian in accordance with the Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan (EYD/Enhanced Spelling System).
  6. Manuscripts must be formatted on A4 paper with margins of 2.5 cm (left), 3 cm (top), 2.5 cm (right), and 2.5 cm (bottom), written in Indonesian, consisting of 5,000–6,000 words or 15–20 pages, submitted in Microsoft® Word format, and written from an objective third-person point of view (using terms such as "the author" or "the researcher," and avoiding first-person terms such as "I" or "we").
  7. Every manuscript must be arranged sequentially and include the following components: title, author's name, institutional affiliation, email address, abstract, keywords, main body (introduction, research methods, results and analysis, conclusion), and references.
  8. Manuscripts must conform to the Lughoti Journal Template.

 

Manuscript Structure and Template Details

1. Title

  • Written concisely and clearly, reflecting the core content of the article.
  • Maximum 14 words (excluding conjunctions), in Indonesian.
  • Centered, bold, capitalized in title case, font Times New Roman 14 pt.

2. Author's Name and Affiliation

  • Written below the title, without academic titles.
  • If the article has multiple authors, names are separated by commas and superscript numbers indicating affiliation.
  • Institutional affiliation and complete corresponding author's email address are included below the author's name.
  • Format: Times New Roman 11 pt, centered.

3. Abstract

  • Written in two languages: Indonesian and English (or Arabic, depending on journal policy).
  • Length: 150–250 words for each language version.
  • Contains: research background, objectives, methods, main findings, and conclusion — written as a single concise paragraph without subheadings or citations.
  • Font: Times New Roman 11 pt, italic for the English/Arabic version, single-spaced, justified.

4. Keywords

  • Consists of 3–5 keywords/phrases, separated by semicolons.
  • Placed directly below the abstract, in both language versions.

5. Introduction (Pendahuluan)

  • Contains research background, problem statement, literature review/previous studies (state of the art), research gap, and the novelty or objective of the study.
  • Should clearly demonstrate the article's contribution to the existing body of knowledge.
  • Recommended length: 15–20% of the total manuscript.

6. Research Method (Metode Penelitian)

  • Describes the research approach, design, data sources, data collection techniques, and data analysis procedures.
  • Written concisely but sufficiently detailed to allow replication of the study.

7. Results and Discussion (Hasil dan Analisis)

  • Presents research findings systematically, supported by tables, figures, or diagrams where necessary (numbered sequentially with clear captions).
  • The discussion should critically analyze the findings and relate them to relevant theories and previous research, not merely restate the data.
  • Recommended length: 50–60% of the total manuscript.

8. Conclusion (Kesimpulan)

  • Summarizes the key findings in direct relation to the research objectives.
  • Does not merely repeat the discussion section; may include research limitations and suggestions for future studies.
  • Written in paragraph form, not in pointers/bullet lists.

9. References (Daftar Pustaka)

  • Contains only sources cited within the manuscript.
  • A minimum of 80% of references should be sourced from journal articles or research results published within the last 10 years.
  • Citation and reference style follows the APA 7th Edition format, and authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero.
