PLAGIARISM POLICY

CONTEMPLATE: Jurnal Ilmiah Studi Keislaman is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, ethical publishing practices, and scholarly excellence. The journal strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism, including direct plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data plagiarism, and improper citation practices.

All manuscripts submitted to CONTEMPLATE: Jurnal Ilmiah Studi Keislaman are subject to an originality screening using Turnitin prior to the peer-review process. The Editorial Team evaluates both the overall similarity index and the nature of the similarities detected to ensure that submitted works meet accepted standards of academic originality.

As a general policy, the journal permits a maximum similarity index of 20%, excluding references, bibliography, properly cited quotations, and commonly used methodological expressions. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision before further consideration. However, compliance with the similarity threshold does not automatically guarantee acceptance. Manuscripts may still be rejected if significant portions of the text substantially overlap with previously published works.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources, ideas, data, quotations, figures, and tables derived from other works are properly acknowledged through accurate citations and references. Failure to provide appropriate attribution constitutes a violation of publication ethics.

If plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated data, falsified data, or any other form of academic misconduct is identified during the editorial process, the manuscript will be rejected immediately. In cases where ethical violations are discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to publish corrections, issue expressions of concern, or retract the article in accordance with internationally recognized publication ethics standards.

The journal adheres to the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics in addressing allegations of plagiarism and research misconduct. All reported cases will be investigated thoroughly and fairly by the Editorial Board.

By submitting a manuscript to CONTEMPLATE: Jurnal Ilmiah Studi Keislaman, authors confirm that:

  • The manuscript is an original and authentic scholarly work;
  • The manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration by another journal;
  • All sources have been properly cited and referenced;
  • The manuscript complies with the journal’s plagiarism policy and publication ethics standards.

Through this policy, CONTEMPLATE: Jurnal Ilmiah Studi Keislaman seeks to foster a culture of academic honesty, intellectual responsibility, and high-quality scholarly communication in the field of Islamic Studies and related disciplines.
