AUTHOR GUIDELINESS
CONTEMPLATE: Jurnal Studi Keislaman

1. General Information
CONTEMPLATE: Jurnal Studi Keislaman is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP3M), Universitas Al-Qur'an Ittifaqiah (UQI) Indralaya. The journal publishes original scholarly works in the fields of Islamic Studies, Islamic Education, Islamic Thought, Islamic Law, Islamic Social Studies, and related interdisciplinary studies.
Manuscripts submitted to CONTEMPLATE must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal.
2. Manuscript Preparation
Language
Manuscripts may be written in:
- English, or
- Bahasa Indonesia
Authors are encouraged to ensure that the manuscript has undergone professional language editing before submission.
Length
- Manuscript length: 4,500–8,000 words
- Word count includes:
- Title
- Abstract
- Main text
- References
Format
- Software: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- Paper size: A4
- Font: Garamond
- Font size: 12 pt
- Line spacing: Single
- Margins: Standard (2.54 cm on all sides)
3. Manuscript Structure
A. Title
- Written in UPPERCASE LETTERS
- Maximum 15 words
- Concise, informative, and representative of the article content
B. Author Information
Include:
- Full name of all authors
- Institutional affiliation
- Country
- Corresponding author designation
- Email address of each author

C. Abstract and Keywords

- Must include:
- Research objective
- Methodology
- Main findings
- Conclusion and implications
Indonesian Abstract (Abstrak)
- One paragraph
- 150–250 words
- Equivalent in content and meaning to the English abstract
Keywords / Kata Kunci
- 3–5 keywords
- Conceptual and specific terms
- Avoid overly general words

D. Introduction
The Introduction should:
- Present the research background.
- Discuss relevant previous studies.
- Identify research gaps.
- Explain the significance and urgency of the study.
- Formulate research objectives.
- Highlight theoretical and practical contributions.
Authors are expected to critically engage with recent and relevant scholarly literature.
E. Method
The Method section should clearly describe:
- Research approach and design
- Research setting
- Participants or research subjects
- Data sources
- Data collection techniques
- Sampling procedures (if applicable)
- Data analysis methods
- Trustworthiness and validity procedures
- Ethical considerations
The description must be sufficiently detailed to ensure transparency and replicability.
F. Results and Discussion
Results and Discussion should be presented in an integrated manner.
Authors should:
- Present research findings systematically.
- Interpret findings critically.
- Compare findings with previous studies.
- Discuss theoretical implications.
- Explain practical relevance.
- Demonstrate the originality of findings.
Tables, figures, and illustrations may be included where necessary.
G. Conclusion
The Conclusion should:
- Summarize the main findings.
- Emphasize the study’s contribution.
- Provide implications and recommendations.
- Avoid introducing new data or discussions.
4. Tables and Figures
Tables
- Number consecutively.
- Provide clear titles above tables.

Figures
- Number consecutively.
- Provide captions below figures.

All tables and figures must be referenced in the text.
5. Citation and References
CONTEMPLATE adopts APA Style (7th Edition).
Authors are strongly encouraged to use:
- Mendeley
- Zotero
- EndNote
- Other reference management software
Reference Requirements
- Minimum 15 references
- Majority should be from scholarly journals
- Prioritize recent references published within the last 10 years
- All cited sources must appear in the reference list
- All references listed must be cited in the manuscript

6. Ethical Responsibilities
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is original.
- The manuscript is free from plagiarism.
- Data are authentic and accurately reported.
- All authors have contributed significantly to the work.
- Potential conflicts of interest are disclosed.
- Ethical approval is obtained where required.
7. Plagiarism Policy
All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin or equivalent software.
- Maximum similarity index: 25%
- Manuscripts exceeding the similarity threshold may be returned for revision or rejected.
8. Open Access Policy
CONTEMPLATE provides immediate open access to its content based on the principle that making research freely available supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).
9. Submission Process
Authors should submit manuscripts through the journal website:
Before submission, authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript follows the journal template.
- References comply with APA 7th Edition.
- Author identities are complete and accurate.
- The manuscript has been proofread and formatted according to journal requirements.

Authors retain copyright of their published articles. By publishing in CONTEMPLATE, authors grant the journal the right to publish and disseminate the work under the CC BY-SA 4.0 License.
