AL-IQTISHAD: Jurnal Ekonomi Syariah

AL-IQTISHAD: Jurnal Ekonomi Syariah is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Islamic Economics Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, Universitas Al-Qur'an Al-Ittifaqiah (UQI) Indralaya, Indonesia. The journal publishes high-quality research and scholarly works in the fields of Islamic economics, finance, banking, business, philanthropy, and related disciplines.

Before Submission

Authors are strongly encouraged to:

  • Read the journal's Focus and Scope to ensure that the manuscript aligns with the journal's objectives.
  • Use the official AL-IQTISHAD manuscript template.
  • Ensure compliance with publication ethics, plagiarism policies, authorship criteria, and research integrity standards.
  • Confirm that all authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript.
  • Ensure that the manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Follow the APA 7th Edition citation and referencing style.
  • Carefully proofread the manuscript before submission.

AL-IQTISHAD welcomes original scholarly contributions in the following areas:

Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts the following categories of submissions:

1. Research Articles

Original empirical or theoretical studies presenting significant findings and scholarly contributions.

2. Review Articles

Critical and comprehensive reviews of theories, methodologies, and developments within Islamic economics and related fields.

3. Conceptual Papers

Articles offering theoretical insights, conceptual frameworks, and scholarly reflections relevant to Islamic economics and finance.

Manuscript Submission

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's Online Journal System (OJS).

The corresponding author is responsible for:

  • Completing the submission process.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of manuscript metadata.
  • Managing communication with the editorial office.
  • Coordinating revisions and responses to reviewers.

Submission Procedure

  1. Register as an Author.
  2. Log in to the journal system.
  3. Select "New Submission."
  4. Upload the manuscript file.
  5. Complete all metadata fields.
  6. Confirm and finalize the submission.

Manuscript Format

File Format

Manuscripts must be submitted in:

  • Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

Tables and figures should be embedded within the manuscript near their first citation.

Manuscript Length

Manuscripts should normally contain between 5,000 and 8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.

Title

The manuscript title should:

  • Be concise, informative, and specific.
  • Reflect the substance of the study.
  • Contain no more than 20 words.
  • Be written in Title Case.

Author Information

Authors must provide:

  • Full names without academic titles.
  • Institutional affiliations.
  • City and country.
  • ORCID ID (recommended).
  • Corresponding author's email address.

Abstract

The abstract must:

  • Be provided in both English and Indonesian.
  • Consist of one paragraph.
  • Contain 150–250 words.
  • Include:
    • Research background/objectives
    • Methodology
    • Main findings
    • Conclusions and implications

The abstract should not contain:

  • Citations
  • Tables
  • Figures
  • Equations
  • Footnotes

Keywords

Authors should provide three to five keywords that:

  • Represent the core concepts of the article.
  • Support indexing and discoverability.
  • Are separated by commas.

Introduction

The introduction should:

  • Present the research background.
  • Review relevant literature.
  • Identify research gaps.
  • Demonstrate novelty.
  • Explain theoretical and practical significance.
  • Clearly state research objectives.

Method

The methodology section should describe:

  • Research approach and design.
  • Research setting.
  • Population and sample/informants.
  • Data collection procedures.
  • Research instruments.
  • Data analysis techniques.
  • Validity and reliability/trustworthiness procedures.
  • Ethical considerations (if applicable).

Results and Discussion

This section should:

  • Present findings systematically.
  • Integrate analysis and discussion.
  • Compare findings with previous studies.
  • Relate findings to relevant theories.
  • Explain theoretical and practical implications.

Tables and figures should be used where appropriate to improve clarity.

Conclusion

The conclusion should:

  • Summarize key findings.
  • Highlight research contributions.
  • Explain implications.
  • Provide recommendations for future research.
  • Avoid repetition of the discussion section.

Tables and Figures

Tables

  • Number consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, etc.).
  • Place table titles above the table.
  • Cite data sources where applicable.

Figures

  • Number consecutively (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.).
  • Place figure captions below the figure.
  • Ensure high-quality resolution and readability.

References

AL-IQTISHAD adopts the APA 7th Edition citation and referencing style.

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as:

  • Mendeley
  • Zotero
  • EndNote

Reference Requirements

  • Minimum 20 references.
  • At least 80% derived from scholarly journal articles.
  • Preferably published within the last ten years.
  • DOI should be included whenever available.

Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a Double-Blind Peer Review process.

The review stages include:

  1. Initial editorial screening.
  2. Plagiarism and originality screening.
  3. Double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.
  4. Author revision.
  5. Editorial evaluation.
  6. Final decision by the Editor-in-Chief.

Possible editorial decisions include:

  • Accept Submission
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject Submission

The Editor-in-Chief's decision is final.

Publication Ethics

AL-IQTISHAD adheres to the ethical standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authors must:

  • Submit original work.
  • Avoid plagiarism and self-plagiarism.
  • Accurately report research findings.
  • Cite all sources appropriately.
  • Disclose conflicts of interest.

Reviewers must:

  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Provide objective and constructive reviews.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest.

Editors must:

  • Ensure a fair and unbiased review process.
  • Maintain editorial independence.
  • Make decisions based solely on scholarly merit.

Plagiarism and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin Similarity Check.

  • Maximum similarity index: 20%
  • Manuscripts exceeding the threshold may be returned for revision or rejected.
  • Significant plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification will result in immediate rejection.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

  • AI tools may not be listed as authors.
  • Authors must disclose any significant use of AI-assisted technologies.
  • Authors remain fully responsible for all content generated or assisted by AI.
  • AI-generated references and citations must be verified before submission.
  • Fabricated citations, non-existent references, manipulated data, or misleading AI-generated content are strictly prohibited.
  • The Editorial Board reserves the right to evaluate manuscripts using AI-detection tools and editorial assessment procedures.

AI Disclosure Statement

If AI tools are used, authors must include:

AI Disclosure: The authors used [Name of AI Tool] solely for language editing, translation assistance, or readability improvement. All analyses, interpretations, conclusions, and final content remain the sole responsibility of the authors.

Open Access Policy

AL-IQTISHAD provides immediate open access to all published content.
