Author Guidelines
LA RIBA: Jurnal Perbankan Syariah
1. Aim and Scope
Universitas Al-Qur’an Ittifaqiah (UQI) Indralaya through LA RIBA: Jurnal Perbankan Syariah welcomes original scholarly articles, conceptual papers, and critical studies in the fields of:
- Islamic Banking
- Islamic Economics
- Islamic Finance
- Islamic Business Management
- Islamic Financial Technology (FinTech)
- Zakat, Waqf, and Islamic Philanthropy
- Islamic Accounting
- Islamic Economic Law
- Islamic Banking Risk Management
- Islamic Financial Inclusion and Literacy
Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
2. Language
Manuscripts may be written in:
- English, or
- Indonesian.
Authors are required to use formal, academic, and grammatically appropriate language.
3. Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should be organized in the following order:
- Title
- Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
- Abstract and Abstrak
- Keywords and Kata Kunci
- Introduction
- Method
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgment (optional)
- Bibliography / References
4. Title Guidelines
- The title should be concise, specific, and reflect the substance of the research.
- Capitalize important words appropriately.
- Maximum 18 words.
- Font size: 18 pt bold.
5. Author Information
Authors must provide:
- Full name (s) without academic titles
- Institutional affiliation (s)
- Country of affiliation
- Corresponding author’s email address
If there are multiple authors, the corresponding author should be marked with an asterisk (*).
6. Abstract Guidelines
The abstract and abstrak must be written in English and Indonesian with the following requirements:
- 150–250 words each
- Written in a single paragraph
- Must contain:
- research objectives,
- methodology,
- main findings,
- conclusions and implications
- Must not contain:
- citations,
- tables,
- figures,
- formulas
Authors must provide up to five keywords separated by commas.

8. Headings and Subheadings
Heading formats should follow these guidelines:

Numbering should only be used up to the second heading level.

9. Introduction
The introduction section should:
- Explain the research background
- Review relevant previous studies
- Identify the research gap
- Explain the significance and urgency of the study
- State the research objectives
- Present the theoretical and/or practical contributions
10. Research Method
The methodology section should systematically explain:
- Research type and approach
- Research setting/context
- Data sources
- Data collection techniques
- Data analysis methods
- Data validity techniques
- Ethical considerations (if involving human participants)
The methodology must be written clearly to ensure transparency and replicability.
11. Results and Discussion
The results and discussion section should:
- Be analytical and argumentative
- Integrate findings with theories and previous studies
- Include tables, figures, or illustrations when necessary
- Use relevant and up-to-date references
All tables and figures must:
- Be numbered consecutively
- Be referred to in the text
- Include clear captions
Table captions should appear above the tables, while figure captions should appear below the figures.
12. Conclusion
The conclusion should:
- Be concise and focused
- Address the research objectives
- Highlight the research contributions
- Include implications and recommendations when necessary
13. Citation and References
- References and citations must follow APA 7th Edition style.
- Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as:
- Mendeley
- Zotero
- At least 80% of references should come from primary sources published within the last 10 years.
- DOI or active URLs are highly recommended.
14. Publication Ethics
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is free from plagiarism
- Research data are valid and accountable
- There is no fabrication or manipulation of data
- All authors approve the final manuscript
- Any conflict of interest is clearly disclosed
15. Review Process
All submitted manuscripts will undergo the following process:
- Initial editorial screening
- Double-blind peer review
- Author revision
- Final editorial decision
The editorial board reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not comply with the journal scope or author guidelines.
